I have been a professional astrologer since 1995. Although self-taught by voraciously reading many great books (my favorites include works by Steven Forrest, Stephen Arroyo, Liz Greene, Mark Jones—the list goes on), I formalized my study with Steven Forrest, graduating from his Astrology Apprenticeship program at the Master's level. My focus is on the psychological applications of astrology. I also hold a BA in Psychology from Central Washington University.
The secondary progressed moon has long been a favorite topic of mine, so I wrote my first book about it: Astrology of the Moon: an Illuminating Journey Through the Signs and Houses. My second book combines a focused and detailed overview of astrology’s components and some of my favorite techniques in approaching the interpretation of a natal chart, titled: Essential Astrology: Everything You Need to Know to Interpret Your Natal Chart.
I love teaching and have an ongoing list of students I tutor. I have lectured about astrology at venues such as the Northwest Astrological Conference and Washington State Astrologer's Association, and at various astrological associations in the western United States.
"Amy Herring has been a diligent student of Evolutionary Astrology in my Apprenticeship Program for many years. From her contributions in class, I can affirm that she has thoroughly internalized its basic paradigms and principles both intellectually and at the heart level. She speaks well and clearly, and she brings an engaging mix of kindness and humor to the mix as well. I thoroughly recommend her both as a speaker and as a counselling evolutionary astrologer."
