There’s no rest for the wicked (or anyone else for that matter) as Mars enters Virgo July 1st and remains there well into next month. Mars, the planet of go go go in Virgo, the sign of the never ending effort toward excellence will make this 30 days breathless. It may seem like there’s much to do and just not enough time to do it all. Virgo likes a plan, so get organized first or you may find yourself with built up energy that doesn’t have an outlet—just running around behind the mess trying to keep everything from tipping over into chaos.

A great deal of any drama to be had this month will be in the first half. The accumulation of Cancer energy with the Sun, Mercury, and Venus coupled with the Mars in Virgo energy adds to an increased desire to be careful and to play things more safely. Both Cancer and Virgo like to feel in control and like they know what’s going on, so this may lead to the continual fearful feeling that many of us are experiencing about the state of the world, especially the economy and our natural resources. The idea here is to be smart, but not let fear lead us into overkill or overdrive. When Cancer and Virgo energy team up, there is potential for happiness in accomplishment and stability, but when they team up and go mad, they want to head down to the bomb shelter with a 20 year supply of green beans and batteries. That’s why a plan is good! Otherwise you can go into a vague sense of control freak panic mode and tie yourself up in knots without any real resolutions.

The air is crackling as some planetary alignments peak in intensity around the 9th and 10th of the month as Mercury joins the Cancer party and opposes Pluto, along with the Sun and Jupiter at odds. It seems tougher to get anything to slip into place and obstacles can appear exaggerated. The conjunction of Mars and Saturn on the 10th aligns will and drive with reality and structure, so whatever has been building in your life may come to a head at this time. It could feel like a complete and thwarting standstill, or it could be what is needed to finally kick something in the pants and make a solid statement. Some of that outcome depends on what you’ve been feeding your life this month.

As we pass the halfway mark of the month, Venus will lead the way into Leo with the Sun and Mercury to follow later. Mercury conjuncts the Sun at the end of the month, and hopefully we’ll feel a little more clear and hopeful.
